Professional Tarmac Cleaning and Restoration

Tarmac remains one of the most widely used surfaces across the UK because it is generally more cost effective to install than imprinted concrete or block paving. It appears on domestic driveways as well as busy commercial areas such as car parks, school playgrounds and tennis courts. Over time any Tarmac surface will naturally dry out as it is exposed to sunlight, rainfall and general weathering. Frost and freezing conditions can also lead to cracks forming as the surface expands and contracts throughout the seasons.

The process for cleaning and restoring Tarmac works best when carried out in clear stages. To begin with, any oil deposits are pre treated with a suitable oil remover and moss on the surface is treated with a strong anti fungicide such as Moss Clear. Once these pre treatments have had time to work, the Tarmac is cleaned using a high powered rotary pressure cleaner or turbo lance to lift remaining contamination. After this stage is complete, a choice can be made between applying a bitumen based coating or a coloured coating to revive the appearance and add protection, or leaving the surface uncoated if preferred.
